Kalajoki, Finland – One of the things I love about Finland is that there are no crowds, anywhere we go. I have written about this before, but it continues to astound me. This is one of the best, most popular beaches in Finland on a weekend in July.

Now, you might assume that the beach is empty because it was 4°C (39°F) last night. And you might be right. But we’re not paying $25 for parking or fighting for towel space on the sand. And that is exactly what we would be doing at home. So I’ll take it!
