Uusikaupunki, Finland – Bonk Museum is clever, but definitely one of the oddest museums I have been to. It details the history of the fictitious Finnish company, Bonk Inc, from its early days producing the hallucinogen Garum from anchovy relish, to it’s heyday producing “defunctioning machinery,” which makes people happy even though it doesn’t do anything. The museum offers a detailed company history, compelling photos and lots of actual machines. And it’s all fictional.
Afterwards we made our own Bonk machines in the workshop.
