Cabo Matapalo, Costa Rica – The last two and a half weeks have been an whirlwind of terrifying and gratifying adventures, countless bird and animal sightings, long drives on bumpy roads, intense loneliness, and overwhelming gratitude for the opportunity to experience this amazing planet. In other words, all the feels.
And this morning, my family flew down to meet me on the Osa Peninsula. As the airplane coasted by me on the tarmac, I could see two little faces peaking out the windows and and two little hands waving frantically. My heart!
We loaded up our rental car with groceries and luggage and drove to our rental house on Cabo Matapalo. On the way, we stopped to take pictures of a troop of squirrel monkeys. And now we’re doing this. Oh happy day…
