Waterville Valley, New Hampshire – This year for our annual winter weekend in the Whites, we decided to ski Waterville Valley, which is one of the resorts that is included with the Indy Ski Pass. As I mentioned, one of the twins’ friends is injured and unable to ski. So we spent Saturday partaking of the winter fun in nearby Lincoln. Injured friend and her family headed home on Sunday, and we headed to the slopes.
We did not get an early start. But guess what? The slopes are less crowded on Sunday! We enjoyed fabulous conditions and wide open spaces all day long. At 4000 ft (with a 2020-ft vertical drop), Mount Tecumseh is twice at high as other mountains we have skied in the Whites (eg, Black Mountain and Cranmore). Personally, I didn’t even dare go all the way to the top, for fear the uppermost run would be too much for me. The daring duo loved it! (Of course.) But there were plenty of trails to entertain us all, as a full 64% of the trails are intermediate.
Good times! We will definitely be back to ski Waterville Valley again.
