The Valley, Anguilla – The littlest and prettiest cove on the island is Little Bay, a tiny crescent of sand surrounded by tawny limestone cliffs, intriguing sea caves and the beautiful Caribbean blue. Best of all, this spot is inaccessible from land.
I rented a kayak and snorkel gear from Da’Vida on Crocus Bay and paddled east for about 15 minutes along a stunning stretch off cliff-lined coast. (It was definitely more serene than my last paddle.)
In Little Bay there’s snorkeling along the cliffs on one side (which was mediocre in the choppy water) and sea caves to explore. But the highlight is the massive freestanding limestone rock – the ultimate cliff-jumping spot. (Wear water shoes for the climb up.) From the top, there are magnificent views of sea and coast and a terrific jump into the welcoming waters below.
Unfortunately I was unable to get photographic evidence. Instead, I offer this video clip of LeBron James making the jump. As you can see in the video, it’s not that high. But it probably feels higher when you’re 6 foot 9 inches tall!
