Somerville, Mass – After much consternation about the future of Lonely Planet and the future of travel itself, here is my first post-pandemic Lonely Planet guidebook… Experience New England.
“Experience” is a brand new series of guidebooks that Lonely Planet is putting out. It focuses less on endless lists of restaurant reviews and hotel reviews and other information that is easily available online. Instead, it offers “a curated collection of unforgettable experiences, so you can create a unique trip that suits your interests and fits your schedule.”
I covered Boston for Experience New England, and it was super fun to write – much more creative than traditional guidebook writing.
“Can one city be all things to all people? Boston sure does try. This is where folks are as passionate about intellectual pursuits as they are about sports, where art and technology are intertwined, and where a fascinating history is matched by a progressive vibe.”
Experience New England
I also wrote the front introductory chapters, which reference all of the experiences region-wide. So I can vouch for all of them! Here are some really intriguing and unique entrees into the region. Even if you’re a longtime New Englander, there’s something in here to surprise and engage you. Check it out at Lonely Planet…
